Weekly Wisdom--Turning to Friends

Hi Everyone,
After this week, I have come to the conclusion that some of the most precious friends are the ones who can help us in our time of need and pray for us...(I learned that a few weeks back too when all of you prayed for Ralph--and I'll never forget it.)

My two friends, Patti and Donna whom I met while blogging prayed for me all week--and it helped more than they ever knew...Let me explain what happened...I had sent my art to an art gallery--and it got lost! ($1,000 worth of art.) I was in a total state of panic and my 2 friends prayed for me and wrote every day asking what the latest news was...I just found today that it all finally arrived safe and sound--When I sent the boxes on Monday, I was 56....By Friday, I think I was 86! lol I'm sure I aged that much, for sure!

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that if you are ever in a bind, turn to friends who turn to God with you--it makes all the difference in the world...It can change your life and your future!!!

In fact, it was so awful that I was afraid to worry anyone else with it (I didn't even tell my mom.)

Well, that's my story and I wanted to share it with you...and one more thing--Patti said the most amazing thing in one of her letters. She said that the Lord always finishes what He starts...Wow, that was powerful--and something I'll never forget.

I am probably the most grateful person on the planet right now--grateful it got there safe, grateful that I didn't look like a flake, and grateful for 2 friends who got me through this "slippery slope."

Now, there may be those of you who are thinking, "Wow, why didn't Cindy tell me?" Honestly, because I was so nervous about it. It was beyond comprehension that such a thing could happen. It went clear to a different part of the state! Well, thankfully, it's in the right hands now...

As you go about your week, I hope that you will learn to turn to God for everything...I know in this circumstance I had no other choice...and it was a valuable life lesson...I wish you all peace, love, and packages that arrive at their destinations!

  1. Well that's good news! You are right on point. I've learned in really important matters, to share with just a couple of trusted friends that are going to pray and agree in faith, rather than put out a general call to prayer. Yay God!

  2. So glad it arrived, Cindy! We really do learn things in situations like this, don't we! XO

  3. Awwww! You are more than welcome, you sure have been a lifesaver to me more than you will ever know! That's what friends do for each other, offer prayers and support! So glad things turned out!!

  4. I think sometimes God tests our loyalty. I've finally reached the point that I can say C'est la vie and mean it. It isn't in my hands unless God puts it there.

  5. I'm so happy for you Cindy! And grateful to God for taking your problem and making it work out so well. Remember the song, "Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings see what God has done, count your blessings name them one by one, count your many blessings see what God has done."

    Love ya friend,

  6. Oh my goodness Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear you went through all that worry. Similar things have happened to me at work, I can imagine what you went through. Good thing it's all over and everything arrived safely.

Hope you have a better week this week.

  7. Thanks Sweetie for sharing this with us,, so sad that you had all the worry..Yes its a JOY that its is over with now and you received your package!!! Thanks for inspiring us to seek God first in all things..
Happy to be visiting others with there hearts for Jesus on this beautiful Spiritual Sunday...

    Hugs Dena

  8. I'm so glad for you that your package arrived at the destination safely. When I was in Thailand, my boyfriend (who is now my husband) sent me a 10 page love letter from USA but it never arrived. To this day, I often wonder what happened to it.

Have a blessed and anxiety-free week in the Lord!

  9. Amen, Cindy! Amen!!!!
    Blessings for this wonderful week!

  10. Glad it all turned out well. Also glad you answered the question that I was inclined to ask you as soon as I starte reading. Never hesitate knowing the passion God has given me for prayer. Blessings.

    June xxx

  15. I think God puts those special friends in our lives for such a time as glad your packages got there, that you saw God's hand in the process and that He gave you two wonderful friends to walk along side of you ......
    Blessings beyond belief

  16. It blesses me, too, that God always finishes what He starts!

  17. Great power in prayer! So glad your art arrived safely! Isn't it wonderful to have such faith-full and loving friends!

  18. Your post today is such a blessing, Cindy. I've seen God answer prayer after prayer. How wonderful it is to have blogging friends who pray! And I'm so glad your art got to its intended destination.

  19. Well, as you know, I'm WAY behind on blog reading, so I am just now reading this post....several days after the fact.

It really was/is a privilege to pray for you in your time of need. That's what friends are carry us to Jesus, especially when we are having trouble carrying ourself to him.

And finally, I'm not original with saying God finishes what he starts. That's from the Bible...Philippians 1:6 (I think) "He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it." I just knew he didn't start the work only to abandon it.

    Love you,
