Monday Message--Cooking Up Happiness

Hi Friends,

Today's "Monday Message" is to help you begin the week in a happy mode! No matter what's going on, why not give your worries and troubles to the Lord and make a decision to be happy no matter what? I'm going to do it too!

My problem? Sometimes I think that God may not be working fast enough to make everything flow perfectly. Sound familiar? Yes, I guess that is human nature, but if we all try together to make a concerted effort to enjoy happy moments when they come our way, then chances are that they will multiply! I can't wait to hear your stories. If you want to stop by and share, just come back to this post so we can all read it.
Love,
Cindy

  1. I think it takes far more effort to be unhappy than happy. I choose to be happy for I am truely that way most of the time.

I think we all think that God sometimes does not react to our needs fast enough. Maybe He knows that we are not ready to receive them. I know that everything happens on God's time and not mine.

For me personally, I am thankful that God has not given me some of the things I have prayed for. I trust Him to know what is best for me and that is all I need to know.

Often, I wonder why God takes so long? Is He ignoring me? I think not. I feel that He's maybe waiting for me to be still and listen before He reveals more to me.

I try to wait patiently for God to reveal His purpose and plan for me. I am at a point in my life where I am seeking and waiting on His direction for me. Where does He want me to go next in my life. I always wait for conformation of His will. It will happen when He is ready.

I really appreciate your blog and that it's focus is on God and prayer.

  2. I am amazed over and over again when a situation turns out just exactly as it should have and very often in a manner I never even imagined! I fret over things instead of just waiting...I am learning to wait on God...

  3. Have you been peaking into my head again? LOL

A great message Cindy... self pity etc is the fruit of looking inward, instead of looking to Him. If we focus on self for any length of time, we would all be unhappy with what we see!

God bless you and have a wonderful Monday!

  4. morning my dear friend I think that we are all taken in our own directions, sometime it may be rocky and hard but if we just cling onto the things,we love and care for and look for guidance then we will eventually get onto the right path as only one person knows which one we will take and it is often, the best one, that may take a while to get there but its a happy one,
hope that makes sense have a wonderful day love hugs cheryl xxxxxxxxxx

  5. Wow! You ask a hard bargain on this tough morning. Up all night with a kid that usually sleeps. Arm hurting like crazy but can't take anything because the baby isn't weaned. A mild argument with husband because he doesn't know why I should be behind in my Bible study. (I guess he forgot his stroke two weeks ago or something??!!)

So, you drive a hard bargain for me today...but I surely needed to hear it! Thanks Cindy.

  6. What a very sweet post. I've been recovering from a compression fracture in my back, so there have been some down days. But the Lord is always SO faithful. He brings me a scripture, or a friend will email or call me. It's been hard to be still for 6 weeks, but when we are still we must listen to the Lord.

  7. It is hard to read the bible and be unhappy. Try it sometimes.....
Its always nice to have friends to comfort one another in our time of need too because sometimes we need a little help being lifted up.
    Hugs,

  8. I am particularly good at losing patience while waiting for God's answers. I am amazed at the things I excel in without even trying! Thanks for the reminder!

  10. Cindy,
Thank you so much for this! I'm going to apply it this week. Most of what we waste time worrying about doesn't happen anyway. Why not just stop wasting energy on worry and trust God. He promised that if we trust in Him, He won't fail us.

    Have a great day!

  11. Hi Cindy,
You are always so good at giving us great reminders! I am such a big worry wort, I really need to remember that God is in charge, and He knows what is best! I do try and appreciate the little things in life. For instance, I get excited over my morning coffee! The night before, I add the water and coffee to the coffee maker, so all I have to do in to morning is push the button. If hubby gets up first (he doesn't drink coffee, which I can't fathom!), he starts it for me. I get excited just hearing and smelling it brew!
