Finding Your Quiet Place
I recently made these pink tags and I wanted to "send you roses" via this blog and wish you a wonderful Sunday, friends!!! You are all so dear and I'm happy to know you.
I'd also like to introduce you to a new artist, Carola, and here is a sample of her beautiful photography.
Guest Artist: Carola
Blog Address: http://carolabartz.blogspot.com
A thought came to me last night that I'd like to share with you....Since starting this blog, I have made time to pray for so many people. I know that so many of you do too. (It was YOUR prayers that held me up a couple of weeks ago when so much transpired here!)
But, the thought that came to me last night is quite remarkable. I thought you would like to ponder it and I think this picture expresses it so well too. What if when we pray for others, unbeknownst to us, we are being blessed too? I mean, what if we go to that quiet place inside to commune with God and then as we are praying for others He is blessing us? It is possible although I have never read about it anywhere in all my reading.
I thought that was a powerful thought to contemplate. Carola, I thank you for this beautiful photograph that reminds us of the peace attained when we go to that personal "quiet place." You have blessed us with your talent and I am very grateful.
Friends, I would love to hear your take on this and what you feel about it and what your experiences have been regarding it too.
I'm linking this up to Spiritual Sundays.
Love,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteWow...I had never thought about being blessed when I pray for others. That's something I will have to ponder. I know that I feel blessed that I have a Father with whom I can go to when I have troubles and prayer alone blesses me, as when I am done I feel lighter knowing that I don't have to try to control the situation, God has it all in His hands. Powerful thoughts.
The photo is really great too!
Mary
oh you are so right hun this is really beautiful
ReplyDeleteyet so peacful too something we could all do with at times, hugs cheryl xxxx
Cindy, first thank you that I am your guest artist today - I feel blessed by you!
ReplyDeleteSecond, I do believe that when we pray for others, God is blessing us as well. We might not know it, we might not "feel" it, but I think we are blessed.
Dear Cindy, I couldn't agree more that we all need a quiet place away from all the terrible news and other garbage out. It helps clean out the fog and stress.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy...I think you're right...when we give in any way...it always comes back to us...and praying for someone else is the same...at least I think that. Stay strong out there ok.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you...but for me...Whether I"ve prayed or helped someone in need, God ALWAYS blesses in return...It's not material stuff, necessarily...but I think that there's a contentment and a peace that comes from serving God and I'm convinced that no matter how much we pray/give to others in need....we can NEVER outgive God...There's always some sort of blessing in return!!!
ReplyDeletePlease telll, Carola, that the photo is lovely...great detail on the bird :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
What a pretty picture. I agree it is so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteAs far as being blessed by God while praying for others, His Word tells us we reap what we sow. I truly believe the blessings come back to us. I have seen it in my own life.
I think the greatest blessing we receive while going off to pray is God's presence. I know He's always with us, but He's ever so evident during our quiet time with Him.
I just want to share Gods love and hope that by praying for others; we can all love one another and praise God.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kim

Prayer definitely makes me feel blessed and near to God. I try to live in prayer without ceasing which makes me feel centered and surrounded by blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe photo is very peaceful and serene..
ReplyDeleteDucks are lovely and this lone one feels somewhat like us in times of solitude...
It wanders aimlessly.
Unlike us, it depends totally on nature for nourishment. Oh to be a duck.
Bless you friend.
A wonderful photo (Thank you Carola). I think he is a littl Snipe. We have many such birds on our beautiful North Norfolk coast and marshes.
ReplyDeleteI agree you reap what you sow and you get back what you give. This surely must apply to our prayers to God.
I know I have felt blessed and comforted to know so many dear people are keeping Freddie and myself in their prayers. Thank you all so much.
I am trying to keep in that 'peaceful place' all day.
Hugs
June xx
Hi Cindy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat picture! Yes it is true that when you pray for others, you get blessed yourself... The Bible says, "Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will it be poured into your lap. For with the same measure you use it will be measured back to you." When we pray, we're giving. We're asking God to help someone else. And when we give, God gives us back to us so much more than what we gave! :) Great observation! And a really good reminder! Have a great day!

"...and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." Revelation 5:8
ReplyDeleteOur prayers are incense to God...just thinking of that is a blessing to me.
Soulful photo :)
ReplyDeleteAlways making mention of others in prayer!
Cindy beautiful post!
xoxo
Blessings

Prayer changes everything!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I love the picture. We are always blessed by spending time with our heavenly Father. Every time I spend a few moments with Him I come away blessed. I don't need to always be talking to Him about myself and my wants and needs. I feel doubly blessed when I have been talking to Him about blessing somebody else. "Others, yes, Lord, others, let this my motto be, help me live for others that I might live like Thee."

ReplyDeleteWhen I pray, when I approach the throne, when I am humbled beyond belief, when I am in that sacred place, only then can I truly pray for others. So my answer is yes. God blesses me as I pray for others, many times over.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the picture. It is beautiful!

Hi Cindy, i always believed that we are being blessed when we pray for others... thanks for the reminder. the picture is absolutely beautiful. thanks for introducing Carola to us..:)
ReplyDeletejust became a new follower of this blog!!
What a beautiful photo...so very peaceful. It always feels so good to pray for others..that is a blessing in and of itself, but communing with God DOES bless us in ways we are not even aware of...Thank you for reflecting on this today.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture, and thank you Cindy for the insightful observation. I believe God always blesses us when we pray for others. I'm so glad to have you and your blog in my life.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
It is in prayer that we climb into our Abba Fathers lap and build relationship with HIM. What a blessing to be able to do so and His word tells us to come boldly!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy for sharing these thoughts of the importance of praying for one another. What a great privilege and honor to be able to lift someone else before the throne of God. Great post!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing Carola to us. She is so gifted.
Blessings,
Sue
This is indeed beautiful, and peaceful as well. The way I feel when I pray for other people is so amazing, I feel like it's the best way I can help, I do feel blessed.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Ginger
Good morning Cindy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for those lovely roses. I absolutely adore those tags! So sweet.
In regard to your thought today:
I've noticed when I pray for others, it takes my mind off my own problems in addition to helping them. And, God loves it any some we spend time with Him. A triple bonus, win, win, win situation!
Hugs and blessings

I think your post was lovely. I also feel that the Lord cares extra for us when we care for others. That's what he has charged us to do and sometimes praying for them is all we are able to do. My one friend accused me of being overly religious. It didn't bother me, actually a compliment. But it showed me she noticed I love the Lord and that gives Him an opening. Take care.
ReplyDeleteGod did not mean for us to be self centered. It's when, like you said, care for others that we are blessed. Great post. Debbie
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us the beautiful roses. You are a sweetie and I hope your hubbie is doing well. Hope you have a happy sunday,
Hugs,
Kim
PS I meant to say how much i love the rose tags with their little lace like edging :)
ReplyDeleteCindy - if you've read any of my blog posts lately, you know God is dealing with me about my quiet time.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, yes I beleive we are blessed when we pray for others. Galatians 6:2 instructs us to bear one another's burdens. When we pray, we are fulfilling God's command and therefore are in fellowship with Him. That sweet fellowship is a blessing.
So many wonderful responses to this post. I love the photo that your friend took.
ReplyDeleteFor me any time spent quitely with my Father blesses me and makes Him happy. I have felt people praying for me before and it is an awesome feeling to know that prayers are being sent to our Father on my behalf. I do believe that we are so much more blessed when we pray for others because we are not thinking of ourselves, but of others first.
Love and many blessings to you.
To be prayed over and for and visa versa is an blessing!
ReplyDeleteJesus urges us to lead an prayerful life.
And the vers in revelation what is mentioned made me remember an blogpost and photo i read once. It touched me grately and inspired me to work mor conciousely on my prayer life...
