Guest Artist: Gail
Blog: Shabby Cottage Studio
I would like to introduce you to a very special artist named Gail. She created this journal cover and I was sure that you would all love to see it! I think it is so beautiful and it also goes with my theme for today--”Moments.” Isn't it just the most gorgeous vintage-style piece?
For our little “question” today, I would like to ask you about a special moment that you had in the last year and share it with us in “comments.” You are more than welcome to come back and see what others have written too. (I’m sure these will be very special.)
Now, I’d like to share my story about a very special moment. This past Mother’s Day, my daughter took me to an exquisite restaurant in Atlanta where she lives. It is at the site of a large park and has a beautiful gazebo and a duck pond...it is breathtaking. This is a picture of Jenny outside the restaurant!
I am linking this up to Spiritual Sundays and want to wish you all a wonderful and blessed weekend...What will I be doing? I will be visiting with Jenny--I can’t wait! So, when you don’t see me on here, you’ll know what I’m busy doing!
Also, I hope you will visit Gail and say "hi" as I know she'd love to hear from you personally. I really appreciate the artists who share their time and talent to inspire us all. And I have a special request...Gail's father was recently ill and needs our prayers...could you please pray for him? I would really appreciate it so much.
One more thing--I just received an email that a wonderful friend named Lynn is in the hospital with a medical emergency--please pray for her. She is a loving person with the biggest heart!
I am also linking this up to Way of Worship!
Love,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you could have a fun time with your daughter :) :)
One of many special moments for me is going out to Sonic with my father...sharing some good food, then parking near the airport to watch planes take off and land. It's really fun for us :)
Oh, even better, is the laughs we share while we run all over town trying to f ind a yard sale and then the thrill of victory at a really great find :)
Have a great weekend, Cindy. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
What a lovely photo, the flowers are a gorgeous colour and your girl looks so lovely.

Sweet picture...so glad you have that special memory. God bless..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work indeed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Cindy. Thank you for sharing your friend and her beautiful creation with us. I think the most special thing for me this year will happen in about three weeks. My daughter and I and a niece and her daughter are all going on a Girls Get-Away Cruise with Karen Kingsbury starting in Ft. Lauderdale, going to Key West, FL and Cozumel, Mexico.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Love and blessings,
Charlotte
the journal is great...and your daughter is beautiful. The whole year so far for me has been amazing. I published my book Dec. '09 and in June won the TWG Literary Award and recived an Honorable Mention for their highest award.
ReplyDeleteI know that the Lord created all of us equal, but I tell ya, I don't have talents like this. What is special for me are my grandchildren and making special moments for them to remember.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless

Hi Cindy, Praying for you and for your friend! We have been blessed over the year with so many wonderful answers to prayer. One moment I am thinking of right now was a few months ago. A friend was facing a major trial and I was spending time in the Word of God and prayer. As I did so, God took me to Psalm 118. I started reading it out loud and was so blessed. By the time I got to the end of the Psalm for the third time, I was praying the Scripture verses out loud - very loud! I was so encouraged, and rightfully so, as God solved the problem with no further "help" from us beyond the praying! What a joy and blessing to be able to pray for others and see God's hand in it so wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteHI SWEETS,
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE NEW BANNER!
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE GAIL. I WILL PRAY FOR HER FATHER AS WELL. A MOMENT THAT I REMEMBER WITH GAIL ACTUALLY IS WHEN I STARTED A CLASS OVER AT HER SITE, I WAS NERVOUS AS THIS WAS MY FIRST VIDEO TUTORIAL. SHE WAS SO SUPPORTIVE, KIND AND WALKED ME THROUGH GETTING THE VIDEO UP AND OUT. SHE SPOKE THE KINDEST WORDS ABOUT ME AND MADE ME FEEL CONFIDENT TO GO FORWARD. I WILL NEVER FORGET OUR EMAILS AND THE FRIENDSHIP THAT DEVELOPED!
LOVE YOU...MEAN IT GAIL...HUGS!
What a lovely artwork! And Gail's family is in my prayers....
ReplyDeletelove, kelee
Gail's family will be in my prayers. I love the journal! What a pretty piece of artwork. Glad you and your daughter had such a terrific time together. Hugs Anne
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your daughter have a wonderful time together.
ReplyDeleteMy special time this year was getting to help out with the Project Healing Waters fishing tournament. PHW is an organization that is helping rehabilitate wounded soldiers by teaching them fishing and fly tying. The tournament was a two-day event and it was so wonderful to see the wounded warriors begin to "unwind" and to have fun. So many suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome (known as shell shock in the olden days).
Oh my, beautiful blog. Beautiful journal. Beautiful daughter. Praise God!
ReplyDeletePraying for Gail and her family. Already told you at your other blog, but will tell you here too--your daughter is beautiful. God's blessings for her.
ReplyDeleteI've had a few special moments this year--my 25th wedding anniversary and the day our son graduated from fire academy was definitely filled with joyful tears and gratitude. If I have to pick the most memorable though, I would have to say it was the day that we got to bring our Golden Retriever, Honey, home from the animal hospital after near death. Our daughter had long dreamed of taking her graduation picture with her and when Honey became critically ill, she thought she'd never get the chance. We all prayed along with many faithful friends and our daughter got her wish. Honey came home and God extended her life another five beautiful weeks. Our daughter got her graduation picture with her, took her to the beach, took her to a ball game and crossed all her long hoped for wishes off her list. The day I took that picture of the two of them, will always remain very special in my heart.
