Hi Everyone:
I have a personal story that I have waited to tell you. So, here it is:
On the night that I created this blog, I asked the Lord if this blog was something that He wanted me to do. I opened my Bible and put my finger on a verse randomly. I often do that when asking for guidance. Here is the verse:
Luke 8:8
And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
I was so moved because I felt that this blog would “spring up and bare fruit,” meaning that it would enlighten others and reach those who need it...that those who need prayers and a sense of community would find a place where they could know that someone was praying for them and that others were wishing them well.
You can imagine that I wondered where people would even know that this blog existed. But, I thought that should not be my concern because the verse said, “And bare fruit an hundredfold.”
So, I stepped out in faith. It has been a wonderful walk.
I also linked this up for Thankful Thursday.
And for Spiritual Sunday!
Hugs,
Cindy
It is cool how intimate God is with us.
ReplyDeleteCindy, that is a perfect illustration of obedience. I am in the process of getting my verse and thoughts together ang will post on Saturday. olive♥
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful story Cindy! I love how you can string your words together so well! Looking forward to tomorrow and visiting all our new friends.

Oh, it will be so inspiring to see which verses you all post...Gee, I feel like I'm giving "Sunday School" homework! Wouldn't that have been nice if that was the kind of homework we had when we were kids?
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cindy
The blogging community has been a great source of support for me over the past couple of years. I've grown to love and cherish many of my readers, even meeting several of them in person. I pray that God continues to use your heart, your obedience, and your pen for his glory as only he can.
ReplyDeleteKeep to it and be encouraged!

Hi Cindy, that was a really good idea. I've never tried it before, about opening the bible and randomly pointing to a verse. I tried that for your linky party and ended up writing a post that I think readers will really like.

Hello Cindy, It's so surprising when you reach out to Him, how He answers...He loves you and reads the desire of your heart. Good things happen to good people.
ReplyDeleteNow you will rise up and soar like an eagle as you see love returned a hundred fold back through your writings.
We recieve a blessing when we give. Hugs
Happy Friday Cindy!
ReplyDeleteYou are a breath of inspiration for this day. I love the sharing on the amazing Scripture God lead you to. God will do everything for us...we just need to trust Him.
Recently I had an experience very much like yours. I am blessed because it is a HUGE detail of one of my dreams. I smile out loud because, it's a SURE thing, God is the Giver of all good gifts.
Thank you for bringing us Sisters in Christ together to share & celebrate the living Word.
God is with us.

Patty, thank you for being obedient. Your blog link-up event is such an encouragement to me and to many others. Your story above just shows how God is so willing to give us guidance in our ordinary decisions and in our not-so-ordinary decisions
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to share some encouraging words (and receive some) today..

It is so awesome to be able to communicate with God so intimately. I totally understand about His guidance through the blog ministry. I also went to Him when I first entered Blogland with so many questions and doubts, but it had His blessing from the very beginning and continues to. Thank you for sharing. Love and blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to read about your inspiration for this blog and also about your Scripture events. One of my favorite Bible verses is 3 John 2 and maybe I will participate. I am your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteHey Cindy, I found you thru Maria at Bubblegum & Duct tape. I love your linky party idea. I'm all over it...if I can figure it all out. New follower. You'll be at 100 soon enough. My whole life is based on the 100 fold hope that following the Lord's leading matters to others whether I get much encouragment while here on earth towards it or not. Glad to meet ya. I'm in Houston.
ReplyDeleteThis has been such a blessing to me! It seems no two verses have been the same and have spoke to us in different ways. Thank you...
ReplyDeleteI am glad you pointed to that verse, when seeking your answer. Such a blessing to us all.
ReplyDeleteLove to you,
Debbie
Cindy, you are bearing fruit, and God has led me along with many others to find your lovely blog. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteCindy - I love this story. When we step out on faith, knowing God has called us, there are no limits as to what He can do.
ReplyDeleteI, for one am glad you made that step of faith.
