Guest Artist: Rebecca

I wanted to introduce you to Rebecca. She is one of the first people I met when I joined the Bloggerette Sorority...and I am so happy that she agreed to be a guest artist today!

Rebecca creates so much beauty--and that is what amazes me about her! It is no wonder that her home has been featured in so many famous magazines--she is gifted! But, in addition to that, she is genuinely warm, a trait that I so highly value as I’m sure you do too.

It was difficult to decide what I wanted to post and then we settled on one of her pillows. And you may wonder, “Why a pillow?” Well, the reason is that it reminded me of when I was little and would say my prayers beginning with, “Now I lay me down to sleep...” And I would rest my head on the pillow when I finished thanking God for all of my blessings. It was such a comfort.

And then, I thought of “our comfort zones” and how easy it is to stay glued to them instead of reaching out to others to comfort them. Imagine if each day we reached out to comfort someone, even if it meant saying, “I understand what you’re going through.” We could visit someone who is sick. We could help someone to their car whose load is too heavy.

Being a comfort to others is a privilege. It is one of the best ways I know to affirm that the Lord is alive and well and dwelling in us.

When I saw this pillow, I thought of all the collective comfort we could bring to others! All of us just doing one thing could add up to so much! And when we rest our heads on the pillow at night, we would know that we made this world just a little brighter.

  1. A lovely pillow and a beautiful sentiment Cindy.
I immediately thought of my husband. If he sees anyone in trouble or that needs help he is right there. Sometimes I get worried about his safety but I know he could live with himself if he didn't try to help. He's a good guy, I should tell him more often.

  3. HAPPY BLESSED TWILIGHT HOUR CINDY,
WHERE ALL GOD'S CREATION IS BRIGHT AND THE STARS ARE LIKE A BILLION TRILLION TWINKLING CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SHINING FORTH IN THE DARKNESS.
THIS IS THE HOUR I LOVE THE MOST AS IT IS STARTING TO SETTLE DOWN AND THE DISTRACTIONS ARE NOT THERE TO KEEP US FROM HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD.
I READ EVERY POST ON YOUR BLOG. YOU ARE CERTAINLY GIFTED WITH THE ABILITY TO HEAR WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS FOR YOU TO BLESS US WITH.
REBECCA IS AN AWESOME LADY. I HAVE MET HER THREE TIMES IN PERSON. SHE CAME TO THE HOSPITAL, WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS QUITE ILL. IT WAS A BLINDING THUNDERSTORM WITH BUCKETS OF RAIN. SHE DID NOT KNOW ME BUT HEARD ABOUT MY DAUGHTER AND BROUGHT FRESH BAKED, DELICIOUS APPLE MUFFINS TO THE HOSPITAL. WHEN SHE BRINGS GIFTS THEY ARE WRAPPED IN HER SIGNATURE LIGHT PINK TULLE AND IT IS JUST LIKE YOU HAVE HAD AN ANGEL VISIT FROM HEAVEN.
SHE IS STUNNING ON THE OUTSIDE AND BEAUTIFUL ON THE INSIDE. I CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU BOTH WOULD BE IMMEDIATE FRIENDS UPON MEETING EACH OTHER.
HER WORK IS IMPECCABLE AND SO PRETTY. SHE TAKES SUCH PRIDE IN EVERYTHING.
I TOOK YOUR BLOG BUTTON TO POST...IT IS MY THIRD BUTTON I HAVE FOR YOU....I HAVE YOUR OTHER BLOG BUTTON, THIS BLOG BUTTON, AND YOUR CREATIVE SUNDAY BUTTON.
    HUGS MY PRECIOUS FRIEND

  5. Hi Cindy
What a sweet pillow! And your words are so true! We may never know what impact even our smallest thoughtful deeds have on others! I know that even giving a big smile to a stranger or a sales person in a store, and then receiving a smile in return seems to make everything feel brighter! Hope you have a wonderful day :)
